Learning Objective
To understand the immunological mechanism of action of topical imiquimod and its potential role as a treatment option for
cutaneous leishmaniasis (CL) in infants as well, as to recognize the clinical presentation and therapeutic challenges of cutaneous
leishmaniasis in infants, and to evaluate topical imiquimod as an alternative to systemic treatment in this population.
